Ghana head coach Milovan Rajevac has sensationally claimed that Morocco were lucky to run away 1-0 winners in their AFCON 2021 opening Group C game against the Black Stars Monday night.
The Atlas Lions left it late to secure the win, after Sofiane Boufal turned in a deflected Thomas Partey ball in the 83rd minute to break Ghanaian hearts.
It was a game the Moroccans dominated for large spells inside the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium in Yaounde, thoroughly deserving their win over a lackluster Black Stars team.
But in his post-game analysis, the Serbian trainer said Ghana were profligate in front of goal and claimed the Moroccans were lucky.
“We missed many chances and Morocco were a bit luckier in the end”.
Ghana next face Gabon in their second group game on Friday 14th January, 2022.
