Kumasi Asante Kotoko extended their lead at the top of the Ghana Premier League to seven points following a 2-0 win over Accra Great Olympics on Friday at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Two goals from the penalty spot from Franck Mbella, secured all three points for the Porcupine Warriors.
On Saturday, Aduana Stars failed to close the gap on leaders Kotoko as they succumbed to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Bechem United.
Samuel Osei Kuffour’s early goal in the 17th minute was enough to give all three points to the away side.
The defeat sees Aduana drop to 4th place on the league log with 24 points while Bechem move up to 2nd with 26 points, 7 points behind leaders Kotoko.

Hearts of Oak bounced back from their defeat in Match Week 14, with a 1-0 win over King Faisal at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Obeng Junior scored the only goal of the game to secure maximum points for Samuel Boadu’s men.
The win moves the defending Champions to 5th place on the league log with 23 points.
Elsewhere, AshantiGold beat Dreams FC 2-1 at the Obuasi Len Clay stadium.
Yaw Annor’s brace gave the home side a 2 goal advantage before Maxwell Arthur scored a late consolation goal for Dreams FC.
Berekum Chelsea defeated Accra Lions 3-1 at the Golden City Park.
The win brings an end to the team’s five game winless streak. Goals from Henry Ainsu (Brace) and Kelvin Obeng gave the home side the victory.
In other games, Legon Cities beat Techiman Eleven Wonders 3-0 via goals from Abdul Nassiru (61 mins), Croster Adu (81 mins) and Jonah Attuquaye (90+4 mins).
Medeama Sporting Club were 1-0 winners over Elmina Sharks, Real Tamale United and Karela United played out a 1-1 draw, while WAFA secured a 1-0 victory at home to Bibiani Gold Stars.
