The Executive Committee of the Upper East Regional Football Association has announced Saturday, February 19, as the date for the commencement of the 2021/22 Regional Division Two League.
The date announced during their ordinary Congress on February 8, 2022 in the Regional capital of Bolgatanga. The Congress had in attendance, Chairman of the Regional Football Association Alhaji Salifu Zida, Chairmen of all the District Football Associations as well as representatives of the Referees Association and Coaches Association.
In all, 24 teams will participate in the 2021/22 Regional Division Two League in a group of four – six teams in each group. Winners of the four Zones will compete in a Middle League after which the winner will qualify to play in Zone One of the Division One League for next season.
The other Leagues (Third Division, Regional Women’s Division One League and the male Juvenile Leagues (U-12, U-15, U-17) will all kick off subsequently.
All competitions of the Ghana Football Associations will end in June 2022. This falls in line with the provision in the Statutes which states that the football season starts on July 1st of one year and ends on June 30th of the following year.
