Asante Kotoko head coach, Prosper Nartey Ogum has backed goalkeeper Ibrahim Danlad to secure a spot in Ghana’s squad for the 2022 World Cup Play-off against Nigeria.
The Black Stars will this month battle Nigeria in a two-legged tie for one of Africa’s five spots in the Global showpiece set for November this year in Qatar.
The Ghana Football Association are expected to release the provisional squad for the double-header this week and many have called for the 19-year old to be included in the list.
Speaking after their Ghana Premier League game against Bechem United, Kotoko Head Coach Prosper Nartey said he believed the player was ready to play in the National team.
“He is a talented goalkeeper and he has some good leadership qualities.” Nartey Ogum said.
“He is good with his feet and hands and I think he is ready for the National Call-up.”
The Asante Kotoko goalkeeper was previously included in the Black Stars squad for the AFCON qualifiers by then head coach C.K Akonnor.
However, he did not play any of the games against South Africa and Sao Tome and Principe.
Ghana will play Nigeria at the Cape Coast Stadium on March 25, before the second leg will take place in Abuja, Nigeria on the 29th.
