Former Division One League side, Steadfast and Dreams Football Club’s swift winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku was exposed to view by the management of Portuguese outfit Sporting Lisbon last Wednesday.
The 18-year-old winger was part of Ghana’s U-20 side that won the ultimate trophy in Mauritania last year, he won the top goal scorer in the competition and also the Most Valuable Player (MVP) as well.
The scout of Sporting Lisbon placed an extensive camera on the young Ghanaian during the tournament as reported Joao Castro a Portuguese Rádio Observador when the club in Portugal reveled the player to its supporters last Wednesday.
The winger who was very instrumental during the qualifiers to Qatar 2022 against the Super Eagles has put pen to paper on a five-year deal at the club, which he has a 60 million euros release clause in the contract at his present club, Sporting Lisbon.
In his first official interview to Sporting’s newspaper and Sporting TV he stated that, “I’m very happy to be here, it’s fantastic. They received me very well, I really like to end it [shot], especially from afar. It will make me grow more. Everyone has helped me by telling me what I have to do,” he added while explaining what playing in Portugal would mean for him.”
