The vice-captain of the reds has listed a host of rationale that makes Jürgen Klopp the successful manager he is.
A long-serving player of Liverpool has been a phenomenal player since the start of the German gaffer’s reign at Liverpool when he joined the reds in 2015.
The English utility-man, James Milner has detailed just how the boss gets the best out of his players on a daily basis, during the gaffer’s era in charge at Anfield which numerous trophies and countless memories have been delivered.
Ahead of the big game at Etihad on Sunday, the Reds No.7 told WALK ON, LFC’s eMagazine, how Klopp prepares his team for big games, especially in a moment like the big clash on Sunday.
Milner has been much decorated with trophies since he worked under the instructions of Klopp, he has lifted the Premier League, Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, and Carabao Cup during Klopp’s six seasons on Merseyside.
As Anthony Taylor will be the referee at Etihad Stadium on Sunday, Milner’s Liverpool needs a victory that will put them top of the Premier League table at the end of the day for the first time since 1 October.
In their last eight Premier League meetings between the top two sides to take place within the final 10 matches of the season, Liverpool has won seven times including each of the last five in a row.
Milner disclosed in the interview to eMagazine, “He always talks to us about the situation around games, which I think is important. He talks to us about what people might be thinking, he anticipates people’s thoughts before games – things such as getting tiredness out of our minds if there have been a lot of games.
“He’s very good at anticipating things that could affect players or our performances, and stopping it before it happens. He puts people’s minds on the right track and has shown throughout his career that he is a top manager.
He’s done a great job here and hopefully, he can win some more trophies for Liverpool FC.”
