Evelyn Badu, a former member of Hasaacas Ladies, took home two awards last Thursday night in Rabat. She was the talk of the women’s category at the 2022 CAF Awards.
The lass won two awards, CAF Interclub player of the Year, as well as CAF Young Player of the Year, Women, which she has achieved this glory in her career for the first time.
She defeats Andile Dlamini of Mamelodi Sundowns and Bambanani Mbanie of South Africa for the Inter-Club Player of the Year award before triumphing over Doris Boaduwaa and Yasmine Zouhir of Morocco for the Young Player of the Year award.
The 19-year-old signed a contract with Avaldsnes IL of Norway after finishing first in scoring and was named player of the inaugural CAF Women’s Champions League.
Ben Fokuo chose Evelyn Badu as the Black Princess’s captain and Mukurama as the general captain before winning the two honours on Thursday.
The United States, Japan, and the Netherlands make up The Black Princesses’ Group D opponents, Badu is presently training with her teammates as they prepare for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica, which will take place next month.
The Hasaacas Ladies FC CEO reacted to the wins her former captain achieved as a result of the awards Evelyn Badu received in Rabat on Thursday.
On her official Twitter account, Mrs. Evelyn Nsiah Asare Owusu wrote the following caption: “I present to you the interclub player of the year. At least we have shown working.”
Additionally, after she received the Interclub Player of the Year Award, Ghana Football Association General Secretary Prosper Harrison Addo, Esq., expressed his delight.
“Congratulations One down, more to come. We are proud of you @EvelynBadu15,” a message that was updated on the Ghana Football Association’s General Secretary’s official Twitter account.
