Myfabulousonline has revealed that Kotoko has successfully completed the signing of eagerly expected striker Steve Dese Mukwala.
In October 2020, the striker for the Porcupine Warriors spoke with Oyerepa FM, in an interview with Kumasi’s Oyerepa FM, he stated, “For now I can’t say much because we are still negotiating, we haven’t finished the deal yet. We are in talks and I hope for the best.”
For the previous two seasons, Steve Dese Mukwala was a major target for the league champions, but a deal couldn’t be reached owing to financial discrepancies.
The search for a talented striker to replace Franck Mbella, who is said to be leaving the club, brought Nana Yaw’s administration back to the negotiating table with the goal-scoring machine, Steve Mukwala.
Mukwala, who is now employed by Uganda Revenue Authority SC (URA), has already finished moving to the club with its headquarters in Kumasi following the two clubs’ recent agreement.
Mukwala had scored 13 goals in 23 games with Maroons FC to become the goal king of the Ugandan Premier League before joining the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA), Mukwala, who was on loan from Vipers to the Maroons, eventually transferred to the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) after failing to go to Ghana for the 2019–20 season.
With 14 goals in 24 matches during his first season at URA, the prolific attacker placed third among Uganda Premier League top scorers and concluded the season as the club’s leading goal scorer.
Whether the eagerly anticipated striker from the Uganda League will be able to duplicate the goals scored by Cameroun international Franck Mbella in his debut season is a multi-million dollar query by the editors at www.atspo.com.
Mbella in his first season at Kotoko made great history in the Ghana Premier League, he happened to be the only player in the history books to record two separate hat-tricks in a season, he also broke Eric Bekoe’s 2003 record of 17 goals, which Bekoe had achieved in his first season at Kotoko.
