Kofi Kordzi, a former striker for Muaither SC and Royals FC, has pledged not to return to his former team, Accra Hearts of Oak despite being generously compensated.
The striker confessed that what transpired between him and his old club is part of football but is unwilling to return to his current team despite having scored seven league goals for them in the concluded season.
In September 2020, the hefty striker Kofi Kordzi departed Ghana to finalize his transfer from Accra Hearts of Oak to Muaither SC in Qatar.
Still, he later returned to the Phobia group after they earned a spot in the 2021–2022 CAF Champions League.
In an interview with Angel Sports on a Wednesday morning Sports Talk Show, Kofi Kordzi stated, “Football is played with the heart but before God and man even if Hearts of Oak give me billions of dollars I can’t be able to play for them again.”

Since it became known that the principal shareholder, Togbe Afede XIV, wished the lanky striker to return to the club after that declaration, several reports have emerged as to why the rainbow club let Kofi Kordzi go.

The player later apologized, but the team opted to cut him loose at the end of the campaign, Accra Hearts of Oak is scrambling to replace the lost players in the transfer market.
The Central African Republic striker Yassan Ouatching, goalkeeper Eric Ofori Antwi, defender Zakari Yakubu, and the forward Junior Kaaba have all been signed by Accra Hearts of Oak on free transfers.
