Following his exploits in the Ghana Premier League the previous season, Asante Kotoko goalscorer Franck Mbella Etouga received plaudits from Cameroun Football Federation President Samuel Eto’o.
Samuel Eto’o, the ambassador for Qatar Legacy, arrived in Ghana on Thursday evening with the Supreme Committee and the Legacy delegation.
Before flying into Ghana’s capital, the president of the Cameroon Football Federation conducted a similar drill in Cameroon and Senegal, two Sub-Saharan African nations competing in the World Cup in Qatar.
He has conducted radio and television interviews after moving to Ghana, he has appeared on Peace FM, and GhOne TV, and was in the TV3 studios for an exclusive interview on the WarmUp Plus Show on a Saturday morning.
Since signing for reigning Ghana Premier League champions, Samuel Eto’o has expressed his impression on Mbella.
Because of his finishing ability, Mbella has been the target of transfer whispers in recent months, he is still with Kotoko and preparing in preparation for the next season.
On Saturday, August 20 in Accra, Samuel Eto’o and the Supreme Committee delegation met with the President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, to discuss mutually advantageous matters before he arrived at TV3 for the big interview.
The host was keen to hear Samuel Eto’o’s assessment of Mbella’s performance in the just completed Ghana Premier League.
The legendary striker of Africa was asked by Yaw Amponsah Larbi about the performances of two Cameroonian players in the Ghana Premier League, the duo were signed by Kotoko, Georges Mfegue Omgba and Franck Mbella Etouga.
On Franck Mbella Etouga, who received his first call-up to the Indomitable Lions team ahead of the World Qualifiers but was dropped owing to inexperience in comparison to other Cameroon strikers.
The president of the Cameroon Football Federation said, “Mbella had a beautiful season. Some months ago, my manager told me about him and even the national technical director spoke to me about him. We are very proud of what he’s doing in Ghana.”
