On Saturday, September 3 at the MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja, the Super Eagles B will welcome the Black Galaxies for the second round of the final hurdle of the CHAN Qualifiers to be staged in Algeria.
Yaw Preko has won a preseason trophy with his new club, Accra Great Olympics, ahead of the start of the BetPawa Premier League, which starts very soon, considering how he was able to win a trophy, there has been the need to advise his predecessor, Annor Walker, to qualify.
Ghanaians are highly anxious about qualifying because they have failed to qualify for the tournament in the previous three editions, Annor Walker will be a national hero if he completes the necessary tasks.
On August 28, 2022, at Cape Coast Stadium, two Accra Hearts of Oak players, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh and Seidu Suraj scored goals in the second half to give Annor Walker and his lads a two-goal lead that would take them to Nigeria.
The manager of Ghana’s U20 national team stressed how they should play as a unit, Yaw Preko told the Black Galaxies to play collectively when they face Nigeria in the second leg of the 2023 CHAN qualifiers in Abuja.
Mr. Preko said, “[They have to] make sure they don’t concede. Nigerians are not better than us in terms of football so I don’t see the reason why we have to be afraid, I coached in Nigeria for a season. They are not better than us. That is the time we beat them in the WAFU [tournament] in Cape Coast. We have what it takes. It’s about confidence. The boys need to be confident. They managed to get two goals [in the first leg] which is good. We go in there not just for defending but to make sure we don’t concede and play as a team. “
