KAS Eupen has confirmed the signing of Ghana midfielder Mubarak Wakaso, with an update on the club’s official Twitter feed confirming the contract between the two sides.
The 32-year-old workaholic midfielder, Mubarak Wakaso, will join other Ghanaian colleagues like Isaac Nunu and Manaf Nurudeen at the Belgian club.
A statement sighted on the Twitter handle read, “Welcome Mubarak Wakaso. The 70-time Ghanaian International Mubarak Wakaso will play for KAS Eupen until the end of this season. The 32-years-old midfielder is on loan from Chinese first division club Shenzhen FC.”
With only a few days until the start of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Ghana is expected to play some friendly games in which technical handlers will release a possible squad that can compete for the country.
Otto Addo will have the luxury of including the former Villareal player in the anticipated squad because he received harsh criticism from many Ghanaians the last time he included Wakaso in his team for the AFCON Qualifiers against Madagascar and the Central Africa Republic because he hasn’t played since February 2022.
Alongside talented midfielders like Iddrisu Baba of Mallorca, Edmund Addo, who was then playing for Sheriff Tiraspol, Elisha Owusu of KAA Gent, Mohammed Kudus of Eredivisie team Ajax, and Daniel Kofi Kyereh of St. Pauli, Wakaso participated in the final qualifiers for the Black Stars.
The realistic editors of www.atspo.com can confirm that Otto will not be crucified by Ghanaians if he selects the experienced midfielder to represent Ghana on the biggest football stage in Qatar.
If Otto Addo relies on his experience to invite Wakaso into the team ahead of the World Cup, he will enjoy his second World Cup appearance. Wakaso was a member of the Black Stars in Brazil.
His comeback to competitive football will intrigue Ghana coach Otto Addo, who values the midfielder’s expertise with 79 days till the World Cup.
