On September 5th, 2022, as the current league champions of the BetPawa Premier League were about to travel to Benin, Mohammed Islam, also known as Nazil Nazim, joined Kotoko’s technical team.
He joined the club in two capacities: assistant coach and video analyst, and the club has been without a video analyst for the past seasons. He is the second member to have joined the club’s technical department after Burkinabè international Seidu Zerbo.
The Algerian’s appointment to the technical staff was declared on the official Twitter handle and was captured as, “We are proud to announce the arrival of a new member of our technical team, Boudjadi Nazim Mohammed Islam. The Algerian will assume the role of Video Analyst. Welcome Nazil.”
Since joining ES Setif of Algeria, Nazil Nazim has acquired experience in the continent’s elite competition, the CAF Champions League, where his first responsibility at Asante Kotoko is to inspire the team to a resounding result in Benin.
He is presently with the club in faraway Benin, where they are preparing for their preliminary CAF Champions League clash against Burkina Faso champions RC Kadiogo, having arrived in Benin on Friday morning on their new team bus, having left Ghana on Thursday morning.
The match has been rescheduled to be played in Benin, Stade de l’Amitié Général Mathieu Kérékou, since the Burkinabè club failed to renovate the Stade de Yamoussoukro to an approved CAF standard.
The professional football coach, federal physical trainer, and video analyst updated his official Twitter handle Nazil Nazim, @nazim_nazil on September 10, 2022, eight minutes after nine o’clock in the morning, disclosing his passion after joining the technical team of the Porcupine Warriors.
The diligent team of editors at www.atspo.com uncovered the Algerian’s social media handle and, as quoted, “My passion is to give the best of the best club to make everyone proud of us let’s keep the club in the higher of Africa. #Asantikotoko #thebest.”
