The third Premier League season under Kurt Okraku has been decorated with incentives and motives, particularly for the top league, the Division One League, and the Women’s Premier League, all of which obtained title sponsors before the start of the season.
The players in various clubs in the BetPawa Premier League will begin receiving locker room bonuses directly starting this weekend, according to lawyer Prosper Harrison Addo (Esq.).
This pleasant news follows after the Ghana Football Association has put up measures to strengthen the goalkeeping departments in the league. The FA, together with the National Ex-Goalkeepers Union led by Abubakari Damba, has introduced a monthly reward system to show recognition to outstanding goalkeepers in the 2022/2023 season.
This has been an appreciable step from the Ghana Football Association president’s term at the helm of affairs at the GFA. He and other staff at the Association deserve praise from Ghanaians since the league lacked all these incentives in the past year.
After a league game in the current season, successful team members will get locker room bonuses as part of the BetPawa sponsorship agreement negotiated by the Ghana Football Association.
It was revealed to the public in an interview with the astute Happy FM sports talk show host, Odiasempa Kwame Oware, on Tuesday morning.
“Next weekend, the winning teams will get the locker room bonus. This is for the players and that is 20 of them, excluding the coaches and technical team, all the players will receive the same amount. It’s part of the sponsorship for players. It’s only for winning games. It’s also for some sort of motivation for the players. In next week’s round-off games the players will be paid directly and this process will continue throughout the season.” Lawyer Prosper Harrison Addo made this declaration to the players, fans and all other stakeholders in the Ghana Premier League.
