Samuel Boadu was dismissed as the team’s head coach with immediate effect, as stated in a press release from Accra Hearts of Oak’s official representative on Tuesday, September 27, 2022.
Samuel Boadu, the head coach of Accra Hearts of Oak, departed along with his whole backroom staff, including assistant coach Hamza Obeng and goalkeeper’s coach Eric Amponsah.
As stated in a press statement from Hearts, the club is seeking a new direction, “The club is of the opinion that there is a need for a new direction and the energy to ensure its broader objectives are achieved and it feels the time for that new direction is now.”
On March 1st, 2021, Samuel Boadu earned a three-year deal to become the head coach of Accra Hearts of Oak. In the first round of the 2020–2021 season, he was the Phobians’ third head coach.
When Medeama FC defeated Eleven Wonders in the sixteenth week of the 2020–2021 season, he was sitting in the dugout at Akoon Park and was tasked with managing the Phobians in their seventeenth meeting with West Africa Football Academy (WAFA).
He truly demonstrated his capability to lead Hearts of Oak to a decisive win. He coached his team to a treble-winning spell in Ghana by winning the MTN FA Cup and the Ghana Premier League.
He has, by far, at Accra Hearts of Oak spent 576 days, and he won 5 out of the available 7 trophies during his tenure; one Ghana Premier League, two MTN FA Cups, one Ghana Super Cup and one President’s Cup.
The head coach, who has shown his enthusiasm and support while serving as the Phobians’ head coach, maintains his position even after the contract has expired. He has shown that he valued the support the club’s supporters had for him.
He shared an emotional statement on his official Twitter account, SamBoaduOfficial, @OfficialBoadu, which the awe-inspiring editors of www.atspo.com had noticed.
The caption reads, “To a club and supporters I call family; to a chair, I call father; to management, I call brothers; and to players, I call friends. Thanks for the glorious moments we shared together… I am glad we won together and achieved the unimaginable in 2 years … see you around soon, Phobiaaaa”
