The Best Chief Executive Officer for two consecutive years, Nana Yaw Amponsah, paid a courtesy call to the Ambassador of Italy to Ghana.
On Friday, September 30, 2022, Kotoko’s Chief Executive Officer, Nana Yaw Amponsah, visited Daniela d’Orlandi’s office to present her with a new jersey manufactured by Italian sportswear manufacturer, Errea, for the 2022–2023 season.
On Tuesday, July 26, Kumasi Asante Kotoko announced their outfits for the 2022–2023 football season, with Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the club’s life patron, shown on the shirt. The season’s jersey had initially been redesigned.
When astute football administrator Alhaji Karim Grusah expressed his opinion on the display of the team’s patron on the shirt, it was redesigned. The staff at Manhyia Palace were compelled by this to ask management to remove the portrait of His Royal Majesty.
Since they donned a new jersey against RC Kadiogo in Benin without the picture of their sponsors, Nana Yaw Amponsah went to the ambassador’s office on Friday morning with the sponsors’ images visible in the shirt.
After playing every game at Baba Yara Sports Stadium this season, the squad has worn the home jerseys; however, the away jerseys have not yet been used for a game in the season.
When the team lost to RC Kadiogo in the preliminary stage, Nana Yaw Amponsah received harsh criticism. He was also held responsible for the resignation of Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, the previous head coach, and the signing of Franck Mbella Etouga by an Egyptian team.
In the Super Clash last Sunday, Kumasi Asante Kotoko did something unbelievable. They showed up for a pre-inspection by the referees wearing a good tracksuit from Errea, which has not been a customary practice for Ghanaian clubs.
The Ambassador of Italy to Ghana posted a message on her official Twitter account expressing her delight for the Chief Executive Officer, Nana Yaw Amponsah, and his visit. The savvy editors at www.atspo.com were able to access the caption.
As copied from the handle, @DanieladOrlandi, the official Twitter handle of the Ambassador, “The @AsanteKotoko_SC’s CEO, Nana Yaw Amponsah, presented me today with the club’s new kits manufactured by the Italian company @ErreaOfficial. I wish the #PorcupineWarriors, who won the 2021-2022 Ghana Premier League Trophy, a very successful season. “
