Jürgen Klopp, the manager of Liverpool, has promised Steven Gerrard a full return to coaching duties.
The legend of the Reds, Steven Gerrard was sacked as the head coach of Aston Villa last Thursday, 20 October 2022.
Jürgen Klopp, the manager of Liverpool, spoke to the media ahead of their Premier League match against Nottingham Forest this weekend. They seek to build on their recent Premier League victory against Manchester City.
The manager of Liverpool had a word regarding the news that Steven Gerrard, a former Anfield legend, had been dismissed from his duties following a poor performance against a Fulham team on Thursday night at Craven Cottage, where Fulham won 3-0.
It’s no surprise that Aston Villa made an official statement before Klopp’s press conference on Friday because the team’s supporters at Craven Cottage yelled, “You’re getting sacked in the morning,” in reference to Steven Gerrard.
Jurgen Klopp, the manager of Liverpool, revealed to the media that he had already delivered a private message to Reds legend Steven Gerrard after his termination as manager of Aston Villa.
If Klopp’s words are any indication, Gerrard is still as highly respected at Anfield as ever, which may provide some consolation after a devastating blow to his managerial career.
Klopp said, “We had a little exchange this morning and I don’t think we have to worry about Stevie, it’s all about how you respond to setbacks and there’s no doubt he’ll come back from that, he will be back 100 per cent but I hope now he takes a bit of time because since he ended his career, he was pretty much working all the time. Hopefully, he will use it to recharge.”
He again gave his opinion as to whether Gerrard would one day be handed the reins at Anfield, Klopp claimed, “I think it will definitely happen. And good for everybody! When is the right moment to take the job? Not to say that he’s not able to do it, but how long do you want to do it? Is it the last job you’ll do? The second job, the third job you do? “
