Ghana’s finest sports commentator at Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, Benjamin William Graham, has been chosen by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) as a stadium announcer in Qatar.
The knowledgeable international football commentator will work alongside FIFA’s Infotainment, which includes Pitch-Side Presenters, MCs, and DJs, to create a cheerful atmosphere in the stadiums during the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
The outstanding commentator in Ghana, a marketing manager for the Ghana Football Association, is extremely lucky to have been picked because this is the first time FIFA has chosen team announcers.
Graham would be working at Group H venues since that is where Ghana will compete, at venues where the teams in Group H will be playing their world cup games.
Graham’s voice will be heard from the stadium’s information control rooms by Ghanaians present in venues such as Al Janoub Stadium in Al Wakrah, Education City Stadium in Al Rayyan, Lusail’s Lusail Iconic Stadium, and Stadium 974 in Doha.
Graham has a wealth of experience working with television stations. He has worked with well-known global television networks including ESPN, Fox Sports Africa, and SuperSports in South Africa.
At CAF TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations and World Cup qualification games, he should gain experience. He also enhances his career at CHAN and WAFU games and other sporting events.
Benjamin has again worked with seasoned commentators like Barry Lambert, Paul Dempsey, Steve Vickers, and Robbie Knox. He holds a Master’s Degree in Media Management from the Ghana Institute of Journalism as his academic credential.
His most recent assignment at CAF was on Monday, June 24, 2019, at the Suez Stadium in Egypt, where he served as match commentator in two separate games involving Tunisia versus Angola and Mali versus Mauritania.
Graham is noted to have believed in a motivational quote ” Spartans we never surrender”, so lots of Ghanaians are not surprised at his appointment, citing the commitment he puts across in the line of duty.
