Notwithstanding the current dismal form ahead of the 2022 World Cup, Ghana coach Otto Addo believes the Black Stars are capable of defeating any team in the world.
Otto Addo will play against Portugal in his debut World Cup match as a head coach and will compete in all of Group H’s games. At the World Cup in Qatar, they will face South Korea and Uruguay as their next opponents.
Since the Black Stars of Ghana have been the strongest team from the continent after three World Cup appearances, Otto Addo will be the subject of intense examination.
Even though Ghana has only won two of their past eight games, Addo expressed confidence in their ability to compete against any team in the World Cup, particularly given the experience they have garnered from previous competitions.
Callum Hudson-Odoi has reportedly been named in the 55-man roster that the head coach of the Ghanaian Black Stars has apparently forwarded to FIFA.
Amidst the countdown to the prestigious tournament in 24 days in Qatar, the television network 3Sports of TV 3 has granted an interview with Otto Addo for their World Cup documentary series dubbed, “Countdown Qatar.”
Otto said when asked about his prospects in the Group stage games against Portugal and South Korea in Qatar, I know we can beat any team in the world, that one is for sure. I think it’s the first game for us but also the opponent can be very decisive on how to go on the second one.”
Otto Addo outlined how a different strategy is used based on the outcome of the first game in the group stage.
He explained, “Because surely you will go into a match differently if you need points. Then if the opponent has lost and you have three points or one point, it is a bit different. The first match is very decisive and then from there we can know how to go on the second match.”
