The owner and bankroller of Tema Youth Football Club, Wilfred Osei Kwaku Palmer, has linked Joseph Paintsil’s hardships with the Black Stars to his association with him.
According to exclusive reports gathered by the tireless editors of www.atspo.com, despite a great start to the season at Genk, Joseph Paintsil has been dropped from Otto Addo’s final World Cup squad.
Joseph Paintsil, who was instrumental to Ghana’s Black Stars at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), did not make the final 26-man squad to be officially released on Sunday, November 13, 2022, depriving him of his World Cup debut.
The authoritative sports newspaper in Italy, Gazzetta dello Sport, will be surprised at Joseph Paintsil’s omission from the final squad since they rained praise on him in 2019 after an excellent performance against Napoli.
But Osei Kwaku Palmer, who always has grievances against the president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, has come out with explanations for why the former Tema Youth winger has been excluded.
In an interview with Happy FM’s Happy World Cup Dialogue, which aired on e.TV, the controversial Osei Kwaku Palmer claims he doesn’t understand why Joseph Paintsil, despite his consistency, isn’t a regular in the Black Stars lineup.
Palmer said, “Sometimes it hurts when I see how he’s being treated in the national team, we watched the AFCON and he was one of the best players, yet he sat out the next two games. I’ve reached the conclusion that he’s being snubbed because of his affiliation with me.”
Mr. Osei Kwaku Palmer shared some guidance he has been offering the winger whenever he encounters difficulties while training with the Black Stars.
“All this while, anytime I give him (Joseph Paintsil) a phone call, I tell him that if they give you a second on the clock, prove to them that you are Joseph Paintsil, prove that you are JP,” Osei Palmer revealed on the show.
