The Football Federation of Senegal (FSF) has formally renewed coach Aliou Cissé’s contract ahead of the World Cup in Qatar in 2022.
Aliou Cissé will be the Teranga Lions’ coach for the next three years. On November 10, 2022, he extended his contract with the Senegalese Football Federation until 2024.
The Senegal Football Federation and the former defender of Senegal have an evolving contract arrangement, according to information gathered by the meticulous and committed team of editors at www.atspo.com.
A statement issued in 2019 when an agreement was signed for the head coach’s contract renewal until last Thursday night proves there was a contract pre-agreement between the parties.
“Appreciating positively their collaboration and the results obtained over the past four years, the parties have agreed to continue their collaboration for the next 30 months until August 31, 2021, with an increase in their remuneration under the aegis of the Regulatory Authority and in correlation with the setting of new objectives related to the team’s successful participation in the CAN in 2019 and 2021 and the World Cup in 2022,” the Football Federation of Senegal (FNF) stated in 2019.
This extension comes just a few days before the commencement of the 2022 World Cup, a competition in which Senegal, Ghana, and Cameroon are the continent’s most successful teams.
Aliou Cissé, the African Champion 2022, will have the heavy task of having a good World Cup with the Teranga Lions; he is fortunate to have appeared in two consecutive World Cup competitions after leading Senegal the last time in Russia.
The official Twitter handle @Fsfofficielle of the Football Federation of Senegal tweeted the new contract extension of Aliou Cissé: “The Senegalese Football Federation welcomes the extension of the contract of national coach Aliou Cissé. The coach, the African champion in 2022, will be in charge of the first team until 2024. #Cisse2024.”
