Ibrahim Sannie Daara, a former Communications Director for the Ghana Football Association (GFA) who was cleared of charges of bribery and corruption, said Joseph Paintsil has behaved admirably after being cut from the Black Stars’ World Cup squad.
According to reports, the final squad will be announced on November 14, 2022, but it has been reported in the media that Genk winger, Joseph Paintsil failed to make the final 26-man list.
The player management of Joseph Paintsil as well as the winger have remained silent, but the agency of Jeffrey Schlupp has slammed GFA officials after the Crystal Palace midfielder failed to make the final list, as reported by the media.
Sannie Daara recounted how certain Black Stars players behaved after receiving such heartbreaking news and how they were later rewarded for their actions in an interview with Ohene Bampoe Brenya on the Happy Sports Dialogues.
Mr. Sannie Daara told Ohene Bampoe Brenya on the show aired on e.TV, “I think Joseph Paintsil has handled his exclusion from the Black Stars squad in a mature way. When Majid Waris was told by Avram Grant that he didn’t make the squad, he quickly went into his room because he was disappointed.”
Sannie Daara, a member of the CAF’s Media Experts Panel, noted how Rashid Sumaila made it onto the final list due to the way he handled bad news comparable to Joseph Paintsil’s.
He declared, “Rashid Sumaila managed his omission admirably and even maintained a positive outlook. Coach Avram Grant replaced Sumaila in the team after a player suffered an injury due to the way he (Rashid Sumaila) handled the situation.”
Mr. Sannie Daara urged Ghanaians to wait patiently for Otto Addo to explain why some players were included in the final 26-man team.
He added: “Let’s all be patient and wait for the coach’s explanation on his call-up. Based on what I’ve seen, it’s not always about performance. Let’s wait for the coach, and I urge everyone to support the team.”
