After Kotoko’s historic victory at Ackoon Park on Saturday, there were rumours that he had been invited into Otto Addo’s 26-man squad because Jojo Wollacott and Richard Ofori had been injured at respective clubs.
In a video released by the communication team of Asante Kotoko on their various social media handles, Danlad Ibrahim got off the team bus at Tarkwa to meet an advisory team made up of the Administrative and Operations Manager, Emmanuel Dasoberi, head coach Seydou Zerbo, video analyst Nazil, and Abdulai Gazelle.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) unveiled the final 26-man squad for the World Cup in Qatar at a press briefing organised by SuperSports on Monday, November 14, 2022.
The technical staff of the Black Stars have officially added Daniel Afriyie Barnieh of Accra Hearts of Oak and Ibrahim Danlad of Asante Kotoko as the two BetPawa Premier League players.
Danlad Ibrahim’s progression with several national teams in Ghana, having featured for the national teams at major competitions, is highlighted in the limelight by the compassionate editors of www.atspo.com.
In 2017, Danlad Ibrahim made his first appearance for the national team, and Ghana was one of four African nations that participated in the U-17 World Cup in India.
Paa Kwesi Fabin gave Danlad Ibrahim instructions on how to keep the goalpost, and the Black Starlets won their group by 6 points while only giving up one goal during the group stage. However, they were defeated in the quarterfinal round after losing to Mali by a score of two goals to one.
The Abdul Karim Zito-coached U-20 side that succeeded at the 2021 TotalEnergies U-20 Africa Cup of Nations, which was held in Mauritania, featured goalkeeper Ibrahim Danlad as their goalie. The goalkeeper earned the competition’s Golden Glove and was a member of the CAF Team of the Tournament.
Danlad was a key part of Annor Walker’s Black Galaxies, who qualified at the cost of Nigeria’s national team; he saved a penalty at Moshood Abiola Sports Complex to ensure qualification.
He is once again a member of Ibrahim Tanko’s U-23 team. The Black Meteors defeated Mozambique in the preliminary round of the AFCON U23 qualifiers and now face the last obstacle to securing qualification.
Danlad is one of the few players on Qatar’s final list for 2022 who has played for several national teams; he has been seen as a national project and warrants a place on the final list to be presented to FIFA.
