The Ghana Football Association (GFA) released a press statement on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, after the Black Stars’ elimination from the group stage of the World Cup in Qatar.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has issued a warning, threatening legal action against anyone who disparages its officials or diminishes the reputation of the Black Stars.
After Ghana was eliminated from the 2022 World Cup in Qatar’s group stage, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) was accused of corruption and meddling in player selection.
The statement’s content read, “Unfortunately, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has noticed that a few persons are deliberately maligning and defaming the GFA and the Black Stars brand in an attempt to manufacture a non-existent scandal about the team. While the Association will continue to encourage feedback and opinions (devoid of insults, personal attacks, and brand devaluation), the protection of the brands from deliberate lies, misinformation, and defamatory comments must be curbed, as the Black Stars remain a global brand that unites all Ghanaians.”
In the statement, the FA notified all Ghanaians that the association’s attorneys had been asked to handle anyone proven guilty in court.
The statement read, “The Ghana Football Association has therefore instructed its lawyers to institute legal action against persons who defame the Association, its officials, products, and destroy the Black Stars brand, as well as the media platforms used to do same. The legal forum will provide the opportunity for these persons to present any evidence to substantiate their allegations.”
Kurt Okraku and the GFA should have directed their legal threats at the well-known French investigative journalist Romain Molina, argues the proactive team of editors at www.atspo.com.
Molina has taken a tough stance with the Ghana Football Association and the Cameroon Football Association.
He revealed on his YouTube channel that the players from Ghana and Cameroon must pay cash to their authorities in order to be allowed to travel with their national teams to the World Cup in Qatar.
