Gladson Awako, captain of Annor Walker’s Black Galaxies, has provided an update to media reports that the team is heading to Cairo to prepare for the CHAN competition.
The team left on a pre-tournament trip to Egypt on Saturday, December 24, 2022, after Annor Walker announced the final twenty-five players. There, they would camp for 18 days before the Championship of African Nations tournament, which gets underway in Algeria on Friday, January 13, 2022.
The team will play several friendly matches in Cairo to smooth out the quirks before travelling to Algeria for the biennial championship.
Annor Walker gathered 40 players at the end of November 2022 to begin pitching camp at the Ghana Soccer Centre of Excellence, which he has since reduced to a manageable 25 before they jetted off.
The attentive and delightful team of editors at www.atspo.com have the final twenty-five players announced, and they are Abdulai Iddrisu, Ibrahim Danlad, and William Essu as goalkeepers, Augustine Randolph, Augustine Agyapong, Dennis Korsah, Benjamin Abaidoo Konadu Yiadom, Henry Ansu, Kojo Addai, Sheriff Mohammed, and Solomon Adomako made the list of defenders.
The midfielders who made Annor Walker’s final twenty-five players are Razak Kassim, Dominic Nsobila, David Abagna, Sylvester Simba, Jonah Attuquaye, Evans Osei Wusu, Bright Adjei, Kwame Otu, and captain Gladson Awako.
Daniel Afriyie Barnieh, Kofi Kordzi, Razak Yusif, and Augustine Boakye were named to the squad as strikers ahead of the tournament in January.

The captain, who has extended his contract with Accra Hearts of Oak until 2024, is expected to also lead the team to success in Algeria.
