Samuel Opoku Nti, the former Chief Executive Officer (C.E.O.) of Asante Kotoko, praised the club’s management for choosing to sign the tenacious central defender, who formerly played for Accra Hearts of Oak.
When it was reported that Hearts of Oak had parted ways with the defender, the former Chief Executive Officer, Opoku Nti, hinted in an interview with Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM that the current management should make it possible for Mohammed Alhassan to join Asante Kotoko.
Opoku Nti told Sometymer of Oyerepa FM on the 12th of January 2023, “If Asante Kotoko is able to sign Mohammed Alhassan, he will help the team. He has rich experience, and he will augment the back line if he joins. Kotoko needs a tough and experienced defender to guide and control the back seat.”
The addition of former Accra Hearts of Oak defender Mohammed Alhassan to the team for the remainder of the 2022–2023 betPawa Premier League games was finally announced by Kumasi Asante Kotoko a day before the official close of Ghana’s second transfer window.
Mr. Opoku Nti commended the administration for making every effort to sign the dependable defender to a contract with Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
In an interview with Kumasi-based Abusua FM, Opoku Nti referred to Alhassan’s signing as one of the best the team had made recently and emphasized his significance to the team.
Mr. Opoku disclosed to Peprah Promise on the Sports Talk Show on Friday afternoon, “Mohammed Alhassan is one of the best signings Kotoko has made in recent times. We need to commend the management for signing such an experienced player.”
“If you watch our (Asante Kotoko) matches recently, the defense has been our major problem, especially with the way we concede goals. I believe with his experience at the national level and Accra Hearts of Oak, he would be able to control our back line for us,” Opoku Nti stressed.
