Luis Enrique has arrived in London for talks about the vacant Chelsea manager’s position, after reportedly “successfully selling a vision” for the club and impressing the hierarchy.
According to the workaholic team of editors at www.atspo.com, the Spaniard arrived in England with his agent, Ivan De La Pena, with more discussions with Chelsea management expected.
Chelsea continues to hold talks about their next head coach, but the club has not ruled out appointing a more experienced caretaker until the end of the season if their preferred permanent candidate does not want to take over immediately.
Chelsea is in contact with Luis Enrique and Julian Nagelsmann, who are considered the early favourites for the full-time job, but will try to hold talks with up to five candidates, including Mauricio Pochettino, and will remain open-minded about who may emerge as the best fit for the position.
Chelsea is prepared to act quickly to speak with all of the names on their list, and will not waste time if it becomes clear that a candidate is their top choice.
