Otuo-Acheampong Barima Boadaa, the general manager of Promise Media, has revealed what the Kumasi Asante Kotoko management has accomplished.
The management team of Kumasi Asante Kotoko has done credibly during their term in office since August 2020, but it needed to be revealed to the numerous supporters of Kotoko and football fans.
On Wednesday, April 12, 2023, Sometymer Otuo-Acheampong, the host of Today’s Sports on Oyerepa FM/TV, emphasised the accomplishments of the administration under Nana Yaw Amponsah and how the team has improved since he took over the day-to-day operations of the club.
Sometymer Otuo-Acheampong, an astute sports journalist, labelled Nana Yaw Amponsah’s revelation of achievements as an academic exercise compiled and solicited by himself and his other knowledgeable pundits on the sports show.
The first point of call by Sometymer was that Kotoko, under the management of Nana Yaw Amponsah, has ably managed financial independence solely based on internally generated funds, and for the first time in the history of the club, profit was declared during the 2021-2022 season.
The management under Nana Yaw Amponsah has been able to establish clearly defined corporate structures and clearly define managerial roles without conflicting roles in the administration of Kumasi Asante Kotoko by Mr. Otuo-Acheampong.
He stated that the club’s sponsorship has generated unprecedented revenue for the club’s management under Nana Yaw Amponsah. Sponsorship earns the club 6 million Ghana Cedis per year, primarily from Betika, StarLife, Star Assurance, PlusOne drinks, the National Lotteries Authority (NLA), Access Bank, Ghana Oil (GOIL), Ticketlake, Ceek, Next Level Energy Drink, Hisense, Zeepay, and others.
The fourth achievement highlighted by the long-serving sports journalist under Nana Yaw Amponsah’s directives was the construction of an ultra-modern office at the Adako Jachie Training Complex using only internally generated funds at a current cost of 700,000 Ghana cedis.
The current management of Kumasi Asante Kotoko has been able to settle over two million Ghana cedis in legacy debt, which includes unpaid signing-on fees of over nine hundred thousand Ghana cedis to Christopher Nettey.
After the management changed player compensation from signing-on fees to salaries, since Nana Yaw Amponsah assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer at Kotoko, the club’s technical staff and players have received ground-breaking wages and salaries.
