Boudjadi Nazim Mohammed Islam, a member of Kumasi Asante Kotoko’s technical team, announced his departure to return to Qatar.
The Algerian video analyst known as Nazil Nazim joined Kotoko’s technical team in September 2022, when management made changes to the technical team after Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum resigned.
He began working in Benin as Kotoko was preparing for their preliminary CAF Champions League first-leg match against RC Kadiogo, the Burkina Faso champions.
The video analyst formed a team with Kotoko’s head coach, Seydou Zerbo, and they prepared the team in good shape, especially at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, where they were unbeatable until a home defeat to Medeama in Week 23 of the season.
Nazil was a foreigner among the current technical team of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, along with Burkinabe coach Seydou Zerbo, whose contract has been terminated and whose position has been vacated for Abdulai Gazale to serve as Kotoko’s coach.
Nazil has joined his fellow foreign employer at Kotoko, Seydou Zerbo, as both joined the club at the same time, at the beginning of the 2022–2023 season when the club restructured a new technical team.
Numerous Ghanaian journalists reported in Ghana that he was mistreated by Kotoko’s management, necessitating his departure from the country.
The Algerian has updated his official Twitter account, @nazim_nazil, stating that the report relayed by Ghanaian journalists is false, citing this as the reason for his departure.
Nazil tweeted, “Denying what was reported by the media, I left the club because my mother is in a critical condition. I am heading to Qatar. As for me, I did not do my job. This is a disgrace to the media. Good luck for the club.”
