Emmanuel Kwaku Yeboah, a winger for CFR Cluj in Romania, expressed his delight after scoring a brace for the Black Meteors at the U-23 Championship in Morocco.
The Sunyani-born winger, Emmanuel Yeboah was Ibrahim Tanko’s first substitution after captain Daniel Afriyie Barnieh failed to make an impact.
Emmanuel Yeboah received a pass on the wings from Fatawu Issahaku and fired a shot across Congo’s penalty area for Ernest Nuamah to tap in the opening goal for Ghana’s Black Meteors.
Emmanuel Yeboah made an immediate impact on the game when central defender Terry Yegbe sent in a cross from Ghana’s defence area, and with a defender to outwit, the CFR Cluj marksman shot at goal to put his team up 2-0.
He completed his outstanding performance at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium with a brace, converting a spot kick that had to be retaken twice because Congo’s goalkeeper, Dhody Foutou, had moved from the goal line before the kick.
The prodigy, who rose through the ranks of Sunyani’s Division 2 side Young Apostles, was named Most Valuable Player after scoring a brace and assisting in his debut game for the Black Meteors, who are aiming to qualify for the Olympic Games in France next year.
When Ibrahim Tanko allowed him to play in the second half of the game, Emmanuel stated in a post-match press conference that his ambition was to shine for the Black Meteors.
“I’m a pretty relaxed person. When the coach told me to replace Daniel the captain, I immediately knew what my mission was: to shine for the team,” Emmanuel Yeboah revealed this following the first game.
The 2022 Supercupa Romaine runner-up shared his joy with Ghanaians on his official Twitter account, @yeboah99ideas15.
Emmanuel tweeted, “Words alone can’t express my joy, thank you Ghana, to my mates and the Coaches, to my dad Anim Sammy still no words, to Shelles Papa of Young Apostles FC, and finally to the King Asamoah Gyan Gracias BabyJeeeeet. YES! AGYA NA )W) TUMI. Please keep supporting us.”
