Ibrahim Tanko has failed to qualify Ghana’s Black Meteors for the semi-finals of the TotalEnergies CAF U-23 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Ibrahim Tanko’s team played three games in Group A of the competition, finishing third with one win, one draw, and one loss, all of which they underperformed based on their previous participation in 2019.
Numerous stakeholders who are passionate about football have expressed concern about Ibrahim Tanko’s team’s elimination from the competition, particularly after Ghanaians noticed that the team did not adhere to a football pattern set up by the technical team during the competition.
This issue identified by Ghanaians was substantiated by Ibrahim Tanko after their game against Guinea, when he told the media that his team lost concentration in games against Congo and Guinea, conceding goals after scoring first.
Ibrahim Tanko’s team once again conceded the most goals among the eight competing teams. Danlad Ibrahim gave up eight goals in three games for the Black Meteors in Morocco during the TotalEnergies CAF U-23 Africa Cup of Nations.
The daring staff of editors at www.atspo.com has enquired of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) as to whether Bernhard Lippert, Technical Director of the Ghana Football Association, was able to divulge the philosophy of football he proposed during his unveiling to Ibrahim Tanko prior to the tournament.
The 61-year-old German trainer and FIFA Coaching Instructor took over as Ghana’s Technical Director on October 12th, 2020, for a two-year term, during which he revealed his main goal during the official unveiling.
Lippert explained, “We have now developed a national football philosophy where we have to play with all teams from Under 15, 18, 20, and 23. How we act when defending and attacking. It is a 200-page document. We will present this to the coaches of the Youth National Team.”
