Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Ghana's most successful Premier League club, has confirmed that they have reached an agreement with Libyan side Al Ahly Bengazi SC for the permanent transfer of Club Captain Richard Boadu.
At the beginning of the 2022–2023 season, the ex-Medeama midfielder commenced his captaincy position at Asante Kotoko while the team was conducting preseason training in Sudan, supervised by Seydou Zerbo.
The team has gone through a number of changes at the Board of Directors, management, and technical staff levels, and the captain for the previous season recently stepped down.
Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, who oversaw Richard Boadu’s debut season at Asante Kotoko in September 2021, during which he was instrumental in the club’s Premier League triumph in the 2021/2022 season, is set to appoint a new captain.
Richard Boadu has left the Ghana Premier League after appearing in 100 league games, 60 for Asante Kotoko and 40 for his first premier league club, Medeama Sporting Club.
The player under Reign Star player agency has left Asante Kotoko with the record number of tackles in the team and the most duels won, scoring two goals with five assists and earning eight man-of-the-match awards in his last season with the Club.
After the current captain has officially ended his role at the club, the newly appointed head coach, who previously spent 284 days in his first stint with Kotoko, now has the authority to choose a new captain.
The stunned team of editors at www.atspo.com can infer that Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum will rely on one of the utility players in his first season with Kotoko on September 19, 2021, Sheriff Mohammed, a former Steadfast player.
The Interim Management Committee (IMC) appointed by His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, would have an amount of USD 150,000 out of the sale of Richard Boadu to Al Ahly.
