Alhaji Abdul Karim Grusah, the owner and bankroller of a relegated club, Kumasi King Faisal, has expressed his thoughts on the upcoming Ghana Football Association General Elections.
According to reliable information compiled by the hardworking editors at www.atspo.com, the ten regional Football Associations have finalised the locations for their respective Elective Congresses.
The Redaach Memorial Hotel in Tamale will host the elective congress on September 27, 2023, as stated in the Ghana Football Association’s official Road Map outline.
At the 2023 GFA Congress in Kumasi, the Bankroller who opposed the suspension of Ashanti Gold FC expressed concern about the lack of clarity from the Regional Football Association regarding the format for the upcoming GFA Presidential and Executive Council elections in comparison to the Regional Football Elections.
The Bankroller, affectionately regarded as “Heavy! Heavy!” explained to Oyerepa FM on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, that the Regional Football Association Chairmen have taken cash from the Ghana Football Association’s President to engage in an unlawful procedure for the elections.
Alhaji Grusah advised the various Regional Football Association Chairmen to prioritise the interests of Ghana football over their own stomach’s satisfaction.
Grusah told Sometymer on Today’s Sports, “I am calling on First Division clubs; no one should sell his identity. It is bad if you take something based on stomach satisfaction.”
Alhaji identified the problem he has observed in the electoral process of the Ghana Football Association, which the Regional Chairmen have to argue against but have remained unconcerned about.
“The Regional Football Association (RFA) is a key component in Ghana football. That’s why I have consistently classified them as Goro Boys,” Grusah indicated on Oyerepa FM.
“How can the new RFA Chairman know much about the GFA President-elect if you vote for the GFA Presidential election earlier than the Regional Elections and lose your status during the Regional level?” Grusah questioned the process of electing the GFA president.
