Kumasi Asante Kotoko has officially announced the signing of Tano Bofoakwa right-back Samuel Asamoah ahead of the 2023–2024 betPawa Premier League season.
In an effort to reposition the club, the recently established Interim Management Committee (IMC) of Kumasi Asante Kotoko has fired some players and recruited new ones to support their goals.
Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, the club’s new head coach, stated emphatically during his official unveiling at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium that they intend to bring in young and talented players to help restore the club to its rightful position.
Asamoah’s multifaceted skills have garnered increased attention, particularly in the eyes of Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, who has praised him for his defensive prowess and ability to orchestrate offensive manoeuvres from the right wing.
Samuel Asamoah made a significant contribution to Bofoakwa Tano’s triumphant promotion to the Ghana Premier League the previous season, making him a viable option for the head coach at right-back for Asante Kotoko.
The 23-year-old, Samuel Asamoah, has joined Asante Kotoko for a three-year deal with the club, making him stay at the club until 2026.
In an interview with Asante Kotoko’s official YouTube channel, versatile right-back Samuel Asamoah discussed his plans for the three years he will be with the club, as well as how he wants to be remembered after his time with the Porcupine Warriors.
“I know Kotoko supporters do not take their number-two position lightly because of names like Frank Amankwah, Aziz Ansah, and Amos Frimpong, but I will do my best to be remembered in the same way as these legends.” Samuel Asamoah pledged.
The adaptable right-back made 18 appearances with five assists last season, and his pivotal role was instrumental in the team’s sixteen-year absence from the top-tier league, a remarkable achievement.
