The unambiguous football administrator, Wilberforce Kofi Manu, "Blue Boy," has railed against the General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Proper Harrison Addo, over the Court Arbitration for Sports (CAS) ruling.
Kofi Manu, a long-serving football administrator, discussed the legal squabble between the Ghana Football Association and Ashanti Gold Football Club, in which the Law Court has placed an injunction on the 2023–2024 betPawa Premier League.
The issue begs to be discussed, particularly in light of the injunction, which appears to delay the start of the new season while also removing doubts about the affected club, Ashanti Gold FC, being reinstated in the Ghana Premier League.
Kofi Manu, dubbed “Blue Boy,” who was banned following the Anas number 12 exposé, blamed the General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Prosper Harrison Addo, for failing to take legal action after CAS ruled that the players of Ashanti Gold must be released because they are not liable for the charges levelled against them.
Mr. Kofi Manu suggested on Oyerepa FM/TV that the Ghana Football Association be mandated to obey the CAS ruling, citing the fact that the players were guilty of the charges and that the General Secretary should advise the association to respect the ruling.
He explained in an interview with Sometymer Otuo Acheampong on Today’s Sports last Monday morning that the General Secretary, given his legal experience, should have considered the ramifications of the CAS ruling.
“You, as a lawyer (Prosper Harrison Addo, Esq.), take a pen and write, following the decision of CAS affecting the players and exonerating them from this. It is obvious that Ashanti Gold, as a legal entity, could not have played a fixed match,” Mr. Kofi Manu explained.
He also stated that the General Secretary should have ordered the reinstatement of Ashanti Gold into the elite club competition.
Secondly, the ruling concludes that there was no fixed match played; we are sorry for the inconvenience; Ashanti is reinstated,” Mr. Manu uncovered the action to have been taken by Prosper Harrison Addo.
