The Interim Management Committee (IMC) has officially named The Hope Brand [THB] as a kit supplier for the 2023–2024 League Season, with a one-year extension option.
The club’s previous management team, led by Nana Yaw Amponsah, signed a three-year kit partnership with Italian kit supplier Errea, which expired after their term ended.
The newly formed Interim Management Committee (IMC), led by Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awuah, has switched from Italian kit suppliers to a German-based company owned by a Ghanaian.
Many fans of the club were surprised by the switch of kit suppliers. The IMC had secured sponsorship from the previous management and expected the newly formed committee to stick with Errea, the previous kit supplier.
Asante Kotoko will receive playing, training, travel, and replica kits from the announced kit supplier, THB, for the 2023–2024 season, which is set to begin in September 2023.
The kits, which are crafted from traditional methods, created with passion, and inspired by innovative ideas, will be available for sale at affordable prices in retail stores to be announced at a later date.
In an interview with Asante Kotoko’s website, scasantekotoko.com, the Administrative Manager, Emmanuel Newton Dasoberi, said that the teeming fans would help make this season colourful with the club’s carefully and stylishly designed kits.
Mr. Dasoberi stated, “This is a new beginning, and we hope our passionate supporters, who are our customers, will love the kits and will be seen wearing them on match days and even at their workplaces if possible.”
THB’s CEO, Edwin Ampaabeng, emphasised the company’s commitment to making this partnership a success, saying, “We believe this partnership is the beginning of great things to come, and we are committed to designing and developing quality products that define and represent the club.”
The broker for Asante Kotoko’s new kit supplier is allegedly linked to a critic of the previous management, Sir Frank Owusu Ansah of Kessben FM/TV.
