Sports Minister, Mustapha Ussif has tasked the Black Stars of Ghana to deliver the AFCON trophy and not to worry about the financial rewards for participating in the Africa Cup of Nations.
The Black Stars of Ghana have had a rather shaky start to the tournament, grabbing only one point out of a possible six and must beat Comoros in their last group game to make it to the knockout stage of the competition.
They lost to Morocco on the first day and drew their second game against Gabon.
Despite the slow start to the AFCON, the Sports Minister, Mustapha Ussif says the boys should be focused on delivering the trophy and not be distracted by external factors.
“On our part as government, you can attest to it that we have done our part because every single thing that we have to put in place I have ensured his Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has made it available, so there is nothing for you to be worried about as far as financial and logistical issues are concerned, all we need is for you to deliver”, he told the players.
The Black Stars of Ghana will come up against Comoros on Tuesday and must beat them to boost their chances of winning the cup in Cameroon.
