The new technical advisor of the Black Stars of Ghana, Chris Hughton says he will play his part to help Ghana overcome Nigeria in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The Black Stars of Ghana will lock horns with their West African rivals in a double-header in Cape Coast and Abuja on March 25, 2022, and March 29, 2022, respectively.
The former Brighton and Hove Albion manager was added to the technical team of the Black Stars, and handed the role of Technical Advisor with Otto Addo being named the head coach ahead of the task against the Super Eagles.
When asked by Ghanaian newspaper outlet, The Chronicle, about his role, Hughton said: “I am going to be involved in Ghana’s game against Nigeria.”
“My father hailed from Ghana and Ghana have two World Cup playoff games against Nigeria. I am involved in that. There is a coach, but I have the title of technical advisor, and my role will be to support the coach and the staff for these two games. But I am very much looking to get back and have a lot to offer.”
The winner of the tie will join four other African countries to represent the continent in Qatar for the World Cup.
