Saddick Adams, popularly known as Sports Obama of Angel TV Sports in Accra, has chosen Kwame Baah of Kotoko as his first-choice goalkeeper, whom he would always prefer to have in his Ghana Premier League (GPL) team.
Goalkeeper Kwame Baah is currently in Accra with the Kotoko team for the preseason and will depart for Turkey in a few days.
Baah, who played for Ghana U-20 at the 2015 U-20 African Cup of Nations, has not kept the goalpost since Dr. Ogum took over at Kotoko, but it appears he will if Danlad Ibrahim signs a contract, as reported in the media.
The Kumasi Asante Kotoko management has signed two goalkeepers, one of whom is a Cameroonian, Pouaty Dendoum Moise D’assise, born on January 19, 1996.
On July 5, 2019, a player agent for Club Consult Africa Ltd joined Kotoko as a free agent and took the number one spot ahead of Felix Annan during Maxwell Konadu’s directives.
He has been away from the goalpost since Nana Yaw Amponsah took over the managerial duties of Kotoko and since Razak Abalora and Ibrahim Danlad were brought on board.
It was rumoured that he would leave Kotoko because he only has a few months left on his contract, which he signed with the club in 2019.
Kwame Baah has proven at any point in time he had the chance to man the goalpost and has been a reliable sub for the team on several occasions.
From all indications, the Kotoko management has shown an interest in maintaining him in the team as they prepare for the CAF Champions League preliminary game against RC Kadiogo of Burkina Faso.
As demonstrated by the management of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Obama could not hide his desire to keep Kwame Baah in his GPL team.
On August 11, 2022, the host of Angel TV Sports Talk Show wrote on his official Twitter account, “Kwame Baah is that goalkeeper I’d spend my last pence to have in my GPL team. Reliable as a first choice. Dependable as an option at all times and ultimately, a great team player.”
