The head coach of Accra Hearts of Oak, Samuel Boadu, disclosed in a post-match press conference that he was aware of Kotoko’s weakness and that was the reason for a 1-1 stalemate at Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Caleb Amankwah scored Accra Hearts of Oak’s second goal of the 2022/2023 BetPawa Premier League season in the 88th minute of the game.
Konadu Yiadom of Accra Hearts of Oak scored a free-kick goal in their most recent league match against Accra Great Olympics to tie the score, and in Sunday’s Super Clash, they did the same thing by scoring a goal after an infraction was called.
Accra Hearts of Oak have not been able to keep a clean sheet in all the three games played; they are yet to score to take the lead in a game; they have not won a game in their last eight BetPawa Premier League fixtures, and they are still winless in the current season.
The head coach, Samuel Boadu, who has since been appointed the head coach, was engaged in his fifth game against rivals, Kumasi Asante Kotoko, in all competitions.
He has one league win, two draws, and one loss versus Asante Kotoko, however, he has won the President’s Cup against them in 2022.
In a post-game interview of last season, he ascribed the defeat at Baba Yara Sports Stadium to referee Kennedy Paddy’s poor refereeing.
However, he made a bold remark to the Kotoko squad in the 2022/2023 BetPawa Premier League after he tied the game, signifying that he has Kumasi Asante Kotoko in his pocket.
He had previously stated that even if he deployed the youth squad against Hearts of Oak and Kotoko, they would not be able to score against him after a stalemate versus Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
After a 1-1 tie in Week 3 of the 2022/2023 BetPawa Premier League at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, he repeated it similarly.
As quoted by Samuel Boadu, “I wanted to outplay them because I know Hearts of Oak is better than Kotoko. They injured Awako and that destroyed our plan. As for Kotoko, I know their weakness, so I told my boys to keep their composure because we will bounce back. “
