The English Premier League’s Erling Haaland is scorching hot right now. The Manchester City striker will reportedly become the first player in football to be sold for a transfer price of $1 billion, according to his agent Rafaela Pimenta.
Haaland, 22, has scored 20 goals in 14 outings for Pep Guardiola’s team since joining City for a cheap £51.2 million in the summer when his Borussia Dortmund release clause was activated.
Rafaela Pimenta, the agent of Paul Pogba and the in-demand Erling Haaland, predicted that the market worth of the prolific Norwegian will soar in the future when compared to other players like Kylian Mbappe of Paris Saint-Germain.
In an interview with Football Daily in the UK, she predicted that should the Norwegian’s Manchester City release clause be triggered, his eye-watering numbers—he has already increased his value with 20 goals in 14 games—could make him the most expensive player ever.
When asked how much she believes Erling Haaland will cost, Haaland’s agent provided this response, which became pertinent given that Real Madrid, one of the top clubs in the world, is still interested in signing Haaland.
Pimenta stated, “I think Erling will be the first player to achieve a transfer that will be around £1bn,’ If you put together his football value, his image value, his sponsor value, it is for sure £1bn. It’s normal to compare Erling with Mbappe so you have a little bit of an idea of the market.”
She was required to talk about the future of one of her agents with Paris Saint-Germain once again. Donnarumma agent Rafaela Pimenta said that he is happy in France.
Pimenta stated, “Paris Saint-Germain were the best choice for Gigio. He’s a regular starter, he’s happy, and he’s not complaining. Future? You never know about the future.”
Haaland and Mbappe are expected to succeed Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo as the finest players in the world. Few teams would be able to pay a price to lure Haaland away from the Etihad, thus a £1 billion move is unlikely to materialise anytime soon.
