Justice Nkuku Blay has taken a strong stance in response to Kotoko fans who screamed his name during his debut in the BetPawa Premier League under new manager Seydou Zerbo.
Justice made his debut for new head coach Zerbo in a club friendly against Techiman Liberty. He didn’t play in the BetPawa Premier League until Monday night since he was fully healed from injury throughout the league’s legal wrangling.
The return of Justice Blay to the field to face King Faisal appears to be coincidental. The midfielder’s last BetPawa Premier League game was on April 3, 2022, against King Faisal.
He sustained an injury while the squad was preparing for the match against Accra Hearts of Oak at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kotoko’s week 24 BetPawa Premier League match, on April 10, 2022.
Ever since being injured, he hasn’t been included in Kumasi Asante Kotoko’s match day selection, and he sat out Kotoko’s two-leg match against Kadiogo.
After Kumasi Asante Kotoko had grabbed an early three-goal lead thanks to the brilliance of Steven Mukwala, captain superb Richard Boadu, and Nicholas Opoku, Seydou Zerbo introduced Justice Nkuku Blay.
The spectators in the upper VIP section at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium applauded Justice Blay when the fourth official presented the substitute board, and before Enoch Morrison moved to the touchline to professionally prepare the way for fan favourite, Justice Blay, his name was all over the stadium stands.
Blay regained his confidence by marshalling the midfield with his preferred partner, Richard Boadu. Both spent four seasons at Medeama under coach Boadu.
He filled in for Enoch Morrison in defensive midfield to help the side keep a clean sheet in the BetPawa Premier League in 2022/2023.
Justice Nkuku Blay had to convey admirable thankfulness to the supporters who made his historic recovery from injury at Baba Yara Sports Stadium a special one.
The adoring editors of www.atspo.com have identified a tweet written by Justice Blay, the industrious midfielder.
The Twitter handle @JusticeBlay had a caption, “Yeaaah, Asante Kotoko Supporters, you are SPECIAL; Thanks for the amazing support and kind gestures! GREAT TEAM SPIRIT-COMMANDING THE RED CITY! “
