On Saturday, January 7, 2023, against Tamale City, David Dickson Ocloo will serve as Accra Hearts of Oak’s interim head coach at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.
Slavko Matic was permitted by Accra Hearts of Oak’s management to travel to Serbia for medical treatment on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, and David Ocloo took over as the team’s head coach.
Before the Serbian tactician, Slavko Matic, left the shores of Ghana, Accra Hearts of Oak lost their last Premier League game at home to Bechem United at their adopted Cape Coast Sports Stadium.
Furthermore, it is clear that changes will be made given that Hearts of Oak has begun selling some of their players and offloading some of their squad’s deadwood.
While the club has sacrificed their talents to the Black Galaxies, their request to the Ghana Football Association to postpone their 11th-week Premier League game could not be adhered to.
The game at Cape Coast Sports Stadium will be a test case for David Ocloo since Slavko Matic has been in superb form since taking over as head of the technical team at the club.
Slavko Matic has won four league games, drawn two league matches, and only suffered a defeat to Bechem United.
David Ocloo has to be very sceptical at right-back, in central defence, and in the striking department in the game against Tamale City at Cape Coast Sports Stadium to ensure that the MTN FA Cup champions return to winning ways.
David Ocloo has to bring in a new and reliable defender to replace Mohammed Alhassan, who has been released after five years, and now that Daniel Afriyie Barnieh has been sold to FC Zurich and Yassan Ouatching, together with Junior Kaaba’s lack of scoring, has to deploy a new striker to bang in the goals against Tamale City.
Goalkeeper Richmond Ayi, Samuel Inkoom, Robert Addo Sowah, Caleb Amankwah, Glid Otanga, Benjamin York, Salifu Ibrahim (C), Eric Esso, Zakari Yakubu, Yaw Amankwah Baafi, and Kwadwo Obeng Junior are all possible starters for David Ocloo.
