Kumasi Asante Kotoko will host Kumasi King Faisal in Week 21 of the betPawa Premier League, which was rescheduled due to the Black Stars’ game against Angola at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

On Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at 7:00 p.m., Abdul Gazale will take over the Porcupine Warriors’ dugout for the third time since being appointed following the contract termination of Seydou Zerbo.
Gazale will lead the team, and much is expected of him after his predecessor, Seydou Krol Zerbo, thrashed King Faisal 3-0 on October 31st, 2022, in Week 4 of the betPawa Premier League.
After an impressive win over Accra Lions, King Faisal has been lifted out of the relegation zone on the betPawa Premier League table, making Wednesday’s game a cliffhanger.

The interim coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, who has four points from a possible six and five goals, stated after the home game against Real Tamale United (R.T.U.) that his team must win at all costs against King Faisal.
In a post-match press conference after beating R.T.U. last Sunday evening, Gazale was asked how he is looking forward to the game against city rivals King Faisal.
“We are picking the matches one after the other; as you said, we are not going to joke with that game because while we are playing we are also looking at the Premier League table,” Gazale revealed.

The head of sports at T. I. Ahmadiyya Secondary School in Gazale compared Asante Kotoko’s points after beating Real Tamale United to the points they can get if they win on Wednesday, labelling the game a must-win.
Gazale emphasised, “Currently we are in fifth place, and definitely if we can win that particular game against King Faisal, we will be kicked upstairs to either the second or third position on the league table, so it’s also a must-win match for us. We will go into the match with the necessary approach to get those three maximum points.”
